| | > Advanced Phase Transformation Lab Equipments | | Vacum Induction Furnace made by Leybold, Germany. The furnace is using for melting and alloying of different metals using induction heating under vacuum. The crucibles with
different capacity, less than 1kg to 25kg. Steel can be used. | | Non-consumable Vacuum Arc Remelting furnace with Copper crucible made by ALD,Germany. The furnace is using for alloying of different metals from bottom size to about 2kg steel. High vacuum and rapid solidification of alloys leads to a more uniform samples | | Tomman Furnaces. The furnaces is using for melting and heat treatment of high melting temperature alloys using inert gas | | Computer Controlled Hydraulic Press, Max. | | > Research Interests | | · Solidification in metals and alloys: Solidification plays an important role on the properties of many man-made objects produce by different materials processing, particularly, castings. Control of solidification process in the alloyed ductile iron and different kinds of steel and super alloys are as a part of research interest. | | · Solid state phase transformation in metals and alloys: Mechanical Properties of metals and alloys are function of the applied phase transformation process. Baintitic and martensitic transformation, austenitization and precipitation hardening in ductile iron, steel and super alloys are matter of interest. | | · Modeling of phase transformation : Application of modeling in materials science and engineering is increasing in recent years, both in research centers and industries. Modeling of solidification and phase transformation in solids in using for better understanding of processes and control of required properties. |
